In July 2016, Heidelberg was host to the UNESCO World Literature Festival. The Schauspielgruppe hosted a short play festival featuring plays written by authors from Heidelberg, Dublin (IR), Dunedin (NZ), Norwich (UK), and Iowa City (USA).
